Sport fishing writer should apologize for error
Letter to the Editor, as submitted to the Times Colonist, Sept 09, 2011
Thank you for correcting the misinformation regarding the ISAV virus purported to occur in BC fish farms. We need clear, correct information regarding our oft endangered wild salmon stocks. Not speculation and definitely not misinformation! Their survival is too important.
How we BC sports fishers long for the writings of the like of an Alex Merryman, Ernie Fedoric, Rob Waters locally or Mike Crammond of the Vancouver newspapers or that icon, Roderick Haig Brown who each informed and cajoled and worked toward safeguarding and enhancing our precious legacy of Pacific Salmon.
What a pity the writer of the misinformation did not have the ability to write an apology for his use of misinformation.
Let us all work toward safeguarding these precious fish and let us do it on the basis of correct and informed study and science.
