Ending commercial net fishing will save salmon
Letter to the Editor, Mike Morry, Times Colonist, April 11, 2010
If all the salmon farms in B.C. were removed tomorrow it would have little or no effect on restoring wild salmon stocks to historical levels.
If commercial net fishing, in particular the roe herring fleet, were to cease tomorrow, the wild salmon would come back in less than five years to near historical levels.
Just a fact. End of story.
