Salmon Spawing in the Middle of Vancouver
 By Vancity Buzz, November 5
What was thought to be impossible, Chum Salmon are once again spawning in Vancouver’s Still Creek. This is the second amazing year of spawning in Still Creek after an 80 year absence.
Partners in the restoration of Still Creek include Still Moon Arts Society, Evergreen, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, City of Vancouver, City of Burnaby, Metro Vancouver, the BC Government, and the land owners along the stream that have helped to daylight and restore sections of it over time.

Vancouver is Awesome,  POSTED November 4, 2013 BY Bob Kronbauer
Last year around this time I wrote THIS in-depth post about the nearly-impossible story of salmon returning to Still Creek in Vancouver for the first time in 80 years. They came back thanks to restoration and enhancement efforts, and were seen right off of Broadway. I was thinking back about it recently and how it’s such a crazy thing that it felt like a dream, and this morning I woke up and was reminded that it’s real after receiving a link to the video below shot by Sarah Primeau. It was shot just yesterday at Cornett and Natal, right by the Canadian Tire there.
