Letter of Interest from the East Coast: Salmon farms: Correcting some inaccuracies
Western Star, By Miranda Pryor, April 12. 2014
It’s disheartening to see allegations about our industry presented as factual information, especially since salmon farmers were not given the opportunity to respond. Bob Diamond’s comments show a blatant misunderstanding about how farming works in Canada.
A new Website, Facebook and Twitter Account of Interest – Resource Works
Resource Works is a non-profit society, open to participation by all British Columbians, to help bring fact-based information to the public discourse about the natural resource sector and its role in BC’s future.
We recognize that BC has a long and proud tradition of resource development, one that includes constant innovation to expand economic benefits while reducing environmental footprints and social costs.
Resource Works is bringing together leaders from many different interest groups, broadly representing much of BC society, including a former premier; a former federal minister; First Nations; union, business and civic leadership; academics from the environmental and physical sciences, and economists. These individuals have come together as an Advisory Council to direct Resource Works’ research into the economic impacts of resource development and to provide neutral, fact-based information to citizens and decision makers.

Cool Video on Campbell River Courier-Islander Facebook
These chinooks were eggs in January. This is their first free swim. You can see how slim the 'cage' is. The chinook apparently develops and waits for release. I couldn't believe how many came out. Doing the release is Dave Ewart, Quinsam Hatchery Manager. All thanks to businesses and people in Campbell River donated to the CR Salmon Foundation.
