Browns Bay Packing keeps it fresh
Mainstream Canada posting, June 20, 2011
Salmon from our farm sites on the East Coast of Vancouver Island are processed at Browns Bay Packing, north of Campbell River. This video shows how they are unloaded from the boat, processed and packed for transport in a very short amount of time. It doesn't get fresher than this! Thanks to Browns Bay for providing this footage.

Prawns at active salmon farm site

Prawns love salmon farms? This video was taken with an ROV at our Raza Island farm off the East Coast of Vancouver Island. The video was taken in May as part of a routine peak biomass survey (a survey done of the ocean floor when the fish in the farm are about as big as they are going to get before harvest). There were prawns everywhere, and some traps too. Prawns eat floating and drifting organic material, and seem to love the nutrients available from fish waste around salmon farms.

ROV footage under salmon farm site

This is ROV footage taken on the ocean floor below where we plan to site our Plover Point farm in Fortune Channel, in Clayoquot Sound. There is no farm in the area yet, so the video shows the ocean floor is in its natural state
