Heads and Tails at the 14th Annual Aquaculture Achievement Awards

Feb. 23, 2013.  For the fourth year Positive Aquaculture Awareness was very pleased to offer our guests the opportunity to participate in our popular Heads and Tails contest.

With the support of our Head and Tails sponsors, Aquapak and Noboco Styro Containers,  CPx Coastal Pacific Xpress,  PRAqua Supplies Ltd, Campbell River Travel Place and Pacific Coastal Airlines we are able to offer our guests a chance to win a Grand Prize of 2 Pacific Coastal Air Tickets (Campbell River to Vancouver) and a $1700 Open Joy of Travel Voucher.

Heads and Tails always generates lively participation from our guests.Guests participating in Head and Tails

And the participants all know their ticket contribution has provided the opportunity to raise money in support of important local not-for-profits that help benefit BC’s wild salmon. A total of $1,000.00 was raised and donated to the Campbell River Salmon Foundation to assist in its habitat restoration of local rivers.

After many coin tossings the Grand Prize was presented to a very excited Jannie Koomen. Heads and Tails Grand Prize Winner, Jannie Koomen

Congratulations Jannie, we hope you and Jacob enjoy your holiday.

Jannie and her husband, Jacob were featured in the June 2012 BC Salmon Farmers Beyond Expectations.

Jacob Koomen: Two-wheeling Cancer Fighter

… It’s good preparation for Jacob though, who along with his wife Jannie will take their tandem bike named Spirit Rider for their third time in the BC Cancer Society’s Ride to Conquer Cancer: a two-day ride from Vancouver to Seattle.

Together they must raise $5,000 – a goal they’ve now reached for 2012 – and then of course, complete the challenge of the ride.
