Corporate branding and a soccer mom’s awesome fail

We especially love stories that star fumbling activists that get so caught up in themselves they can’t seem to remember what their point really was.

This story stars Anissa Reed: activist…and t-shirt maker.

Canada’s National News ran a story last night obviously pitched to the newsroom by Anissa herself. Anissa, and her 14 year old daughter Freyja, took offence to the fact that Freyja’s elite soccer club is sponsored by a company Anissa hates. They don’t support the company being a sponsor, and don’t want to be seen as “supporting” that company. And they will not wear jerseys that are branded with the company logo.

Most common-sense folks are probably thinking…so go find yourself another team. Yah, but then this story wouldn’t have an awesome twisty ending that you’re about to enjoy!

It was a slow news night in Canada, we’re guessing.
